Creative Community Grants

 

 

These grants are available towards the costs of projects which increase the levels of participation, range and diversity of arts events and activities in Napier.   Grants are made at two levels, under $500 and then amounts over that figure.   The application forms and criteria for these grants are obtainable by using the link at the bottom of the page or from our office.

The under $500 awards are processed by Creative Napier within days of receiving the application.  We have a small committee which assesses the project and its budget and explore with you the level of help we are able to give.  For larger projects the application goes to the Napier City Council and is dealt with on a twice-yearly basis.

The criteria for applying for a grant under this scheme are:

  1. projects that increase participation in the arts
  2. projects that increase the range and diversity of arts available to a community
  3. projects that enhance and strengthen the local arts sector

All applicants must be residents of Napier (all Napier city residents living north of the Tutaekuri river and south of the Esk river). If you are unsure whether your place of residence meets this criteria feel free to contact us and we will let you know.


Applications:

Applications can be made at any time.  Please note retrospective grants cannot be made, i.e. you cannot apply for something that has already happened.


GST:
If you are GST registered please provide GST exclusive quotes (without GST added in).If you are successful at gaining a grant, GST will be added to the approved grant. If you are not registered for GST, please provide GST inclusive quotes. These figures will be used as the basis for considering your grant application. If you are successful GST is not added to the approved grant. If you have any questions concerning this please do not hesitate to contact Creative Napier.
