Recent Creative Napier Events

 

Each year Creative Napier runs a number of festivals for children, young people and the community of Napier.

Bayfest

Bayfest was held on 29th January and was voted a great success by all present

Creative Napier’s Bayfest Youth Festival really was a great success.  The youth from both Napier & Hastings took full advantage of the opportunities open to them on the day, learning different dances along the way.  A short rainstorm in the afternoon just added to the wonderful atmosphere and the day climaxed with a lot of folks very satisfied with their day out with Creative Napier.

Look out for Bayfest in 2011 !!!

 

Summer Concerts

The Keeping Napier Beautiful Summer Concerts were held in various Napier Parks on the following dates:

• Sunday 7 February - Jazz @ Westshore
• Sunday 14 February - Motown @ Maraenui
• Sunday 28 February Disco @ Taradale

Sunday 7 February - Jazz with a view

Aaron Edwards provided wonderful jazz playing at the first 2010 Creative Napier Summer Concert at Westshore on Sunday 31st January.  Delayed for a week by the rain of the previous Sunday the concert attracted local residents and visitors, some of the latter arriving in style as one of our photos shows.

 

Sunday 14 February - Motown @ Maraenui

John Fletcher and Family with a Motown theme really caught the spirit of the age in a more intimate community setting.

Sunday 28 February Disco @ Taradale

The third Creative Napier 2010 Summer Concert was held at Taradale.  The brilliant setting, coupled with equally brilliant weather ensured it was tremendously successful.  As the photo shows, umbrellas and gazebos shot up like mushrooms as everyone settled down to listen to Hidden Agenda.  Great music and great singing were the final necessary ingredients for its success.
